Both Sozo and Theophostic are inner healing models.
Theophostic is a prayer ministry started by Ed Smith, Theo which is Greek for God and phostic which is Greek for Light Theophostic Prayer Ministry is based on scripture “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. But knowing the truth in a cognitive way isn’t enough or we’d already all be free. It is coming “boldly to the Throne of Grace in your time of need” and “being transformed by the renewing of your mind” that makes the difference. We all have lies that have been planted in us throughout our lives. The majority of our current pain taps into these lies, leaving us to cope with pain which we then medicate with drugs, alcohol, over eating, under eating, watching too much TV, playing too many video games, workaholism, perfectionism, performance and an assortment of destructive or even sinful behavior.
During Theophostic ministry the goal is to identify these lies and allow God the opportunity to replace these lies with His truth, which goes beyond education in biblical knowledge to include connecting with the heart of God relationally and experientially. And when God moves, things change.
Sozo is the Greek word meaning “to save, heal and deliver”
