About Us

Harvest Church began in 2002 with the desire to be an expression of the Kingdom of God in our part of Maryland. We worship God with passion, we pursue the supernatural reality of His power in Jesus, and we do everything we can to love and honor one another.

Vision

Harvest Church sees a place where the Father makes His overwhelming love known, forming us together into a community that grows as followers of Jesus Christ and is released in the power of the Holy Spirit to reap a Harvest in Carroll County. We want to go there!

Mission

We will get there by doing the following:

Creating an environment of passionate prayer and heartfelt worship in every aspect of the life of the church.

Providing a Sunday morning service where we can celebrate and worship our God, find acceptance and safety from the expectation to perform, and receive teaching and ministry marked by the healing grace of God.

Meeting together in House Churches in order to:

Experience the Word
Share our lives and encourage one another
Worship and celebrate the Lord's Supper
Pray for one another

These groups are understood to be basic Christian community and vital to the Christian life.

Releasing and supporting every committed member into the ministry God has empowered and called them, whether within the context of the church, the community, or into a new church planting experience.

Statement of Faith

We believe... there is one God who lives forever in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe... that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, speaking to us with authority, and without error in the original documents.

We believe... in the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ the Son, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death for us on the cross, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the Father.

We believe... that all mankind is lost in sin, and needs to turn from it and place their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; those who do so are born again by the Holy Spirit's power into God's family.

We believe... the Holy Spirit lives in us and fills us as believers, forming in us the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control, and empowering us for service through His gifts for the Church.

We believe... in the future, personal, physical return of Christ to judge the living and the dead, and to reign in His kingdom over the new heaven and new earth for eternity.

We believe... in the resurrection of every person-- to eternal life for the believer and eternal judgment for the lost.

We believe... in the invisible, universal Church, comprising all who are saved in Jesus Christ, as His Body on earth. We as well believe in the assembling of the saved in the visible, local fellowship of believers.

We believe... in baptism and the Lord's Supper as ordinances of the Church established by Christ, not as a means of salvation, but as an outward visible sign of an invisible inner work of grace in the life of the believer.

Core Values

We Value Relationship with God and with each other, following the two great commands to love. Everything we do will flow out of our desire for intimacy with God and open, caring, healthy relationships with each other.

We Value Worship and Prayer because being in the Presence of God is the best place we can be. We delight to passionately commune with our heavenly Father, ministering to Him in worship, and experiencing His blessing as He manifests His Presence and answers our prayers.

We Value People as individuals created in the image of God. Each person has the dignity of making their own decisions without feeling compelled to "perform" for others(safety), and of contributing to the group with their ideas, time, and resources(respect).

We Value Community with one another as members of the Body of Christ. We believe that when "two or three" are gathered in His name that Jesus is in the midst, edifying and strengthening us as a family of faith.

We Value Transformation understanding that it is God's intention for each of us to grow as followers of Jesus Christ. It is our joy to cooperate with God in forming us into the image of His Son as we lay asside old patterns of sin so that we can walk in His freedom.

We Value Healing of the body and the soul. We see the brokeness around and in us and yet we believe that God's desire for us is complete wholeness. So we contend for healing on all levels of our being by the power of the Holy Spirit in Christ over sickness, sin, and Satan.

We Value Obedience to the voice of God as He speaks to us through Scripture and through the Spirit. We strive to hear what He is saying to us in the various ways that He speaks, and then to courageously do what He tells us to do.

We Value Reproduction as a basic principle of the kingdom of God. We work to reproduce what God has done in our lives by giving away what He has given to us - sharing our faith with the lost, modeling and trainging in a lifestyle of holiness and servanthood, and releasing people into the ministries God has called and empowered.
